With spring finally making an appearance, I am sure we are all looking forward to the longer hours and sunny days ahead.
At the Clinic, the first few months of the year have been our busiest ever. We welcomed our second new doctor to the Medical Prime team, Dr. Nicola Davies (Niki), an experienced GP with a special interest in the menopause.
Working alongside Dr. Ashlesha and myself, Dr. Nicola will add her own unique set of skills to the specialist menopause care we provide while offering even greater flexibility for patients. She is passionate about utilising an evidence-based approach to the perimenopause and menopause and we are delighted to have her on board.
On joining Medical Prime, Dr. Nicola said, “I feel privileged to be joining such an excellent team and I am looking forward to working with our patients to provide individualised holistic care.”
A member of the British Menopause Society (BMS) and European Menopause and Andropause Society, Dr. Nicola has also successfully completed the BMS Principles and Practice of Menopause Care course with further advanced training on the horizon.

Within the last few months, I have been privileged to attend several events which offered an opportunity to speak about the perimenopause and menopause including a special seminar, ‘Women Who Change the World’ to celebrate International Women’s Day.
More recently, I also attended an important seminar within the Old Bailey, London, ‘Menopause and the Law’ convened by Sheriff Alderman Alastair King.
Amongst a high-profile audience representing several sectors from politics to journalism, the discussion considered what potential effects the perimenopause and menopause might have upon women and how the legal system may respond. On some housekeeping news, I would also like to take this opportunity to reassure our patients that we are doing all we can to ensure they receive the next best alternative medication amidst the ongoing HRT supply issues.
